{"id":1299,"date":"2014-01-07T18:38:03","date_gmt":"2014-01-07T18:38:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wendywolfe.com\/?p=1299"},"modified":"2014-01-07T18:38:03","modified_gmt":"2014-01-07T18:38:03","slug":"full-disclosure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wendywolfe.com\/?p=1299","title":{"rendered":"Full Disclosure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve been gone for awhile\u2026perhaps you noticed.<\/p>\n<p>I\u00a0could tell you it was the holidays but that would only be part truth.<\/p>\n<p>Each time I\u2019ve thought to sit down and write my blog my brain quickly and quietly switched gears.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;organize your files<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;you need to pay bills<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;I wonder what\u2019s on Facebook<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;that floor needs to be cleaned&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>a<span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino;\">nd any of a hun<\/span>dred other tasks that needed my IMMEDIATE attention.\u00a0 Hours, days, and weeks passed.\u00a0 Resistance won.<\/p>\n<p>Truth be told, I\u2019ve been hiding.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino;\">I\u2019ve been<\/span> hiding <span style=\"color: #800080; font-family: georgia, palatino;\"><b>myself<\/b> <\/span>from you my readers, my clients, my friends.<\/p>\n<p>I didn\u2019t want you to know my truth.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, I threw out some subtle hints but I have been anything but authentic.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t want you to know that I have moved.<\/p>\n<p>I sold my interest in Open Heart Ranch to Becky and bought a house in Amherst, WI on the water.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1300\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1300\" style=\"width: 320px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wendywolfe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/viewfrompiersm.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1300 \" alt=\"The view from my pier where the sun sets.\" src=\"https:\/\/wendywolfe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/viewfrompiersm.jpg\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendywolfe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/viewfrompiersm.jpg 320w, https:\/\/wendywolfe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/viewfrompiersm-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1300\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The view from my pier with a little ice on the river.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I didn\u2019t want questions and I didn\u2019t want to hear \u201coh, I\u2019m so sorry to hear that\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>There are several reasons I didn\u2019t want to hear this.<\/p>\n<p>First, there is no reason for anyone to \u201cbe sorry\u201d for me. \u00a0I love my <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><b>magical<\/b><\/span> house on the river (and I will tell you the magical story how I found it another time).\u00a0 I made this choice to move by listening to the guidance of my <strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">soul<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0 But my reluctance to speak publically goes deeper.<\/p>\n<p>My reluctance is about feeling that I will be judged by others.\u00a0 That others will feel I am \u201cless than\u201d because I left a relationship, because I no longer own the beautiful Open Heart Ranch, because\u2026who knows.\u00a0 The ego can come up with any number of reasons I should be \u201cless than\u201d.\u00a0 \u00a0Even though I understand \u201cwhat others think is none of my business\u201d, I am in fact a human with an ego.<\/p>\n<p>The ego wants me to hide my <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><b>true self<\/b><\/span> because if you really knew me you couldn\u2019t possibly love me, respect me, etc.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0I suspect you have felt this too; it is our human nature.<\/p>\n<p>What I know for sure is that the <i>only<\/i> way to happiness, the <i>only<\/i> way to freedom is by being completely authentic about who we are\u2026and by loving all of who we are.\u00a0 Once the dark thoughts and fears we harbor inside are exposed to the light of day they lose their power. When you are authentic, it allows others to be authentic too.\u00a0 It\u2019s liberating, it\u2019s freeing, and it\u2019s what we all need most.<\/p>\n<p>Back to the reasons no one needs to \u201cfeel sorry\u201d for me.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s disempowering when we \u201ctake pity\u201d on another.\u00a0 I realize it isn\u2019t a conscious intention but when we pity or feel sorry for others we forget this person is very powerful.\u00a0 Whatever circumstances they have found themselves in they have all the power within them to survive it and grow from it. (Taking pity is much different than praying for their highest good and trusting in the Divine plan).<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s why this <i>really<\/i> pushes my buttons\u2026and I recognize clearly this is a button for me.\u00a0 When someone says they feel sorry for me, \u201cso sorry to hear that\u201d, \u201cwish I could change it\u201d, etc, in my mind it makes me a <em>victim<\/em>; a victim to my circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>I spent the first 11 years of my life as a helpless child; a victim to child abuse\u2026and worse.\u00a0 And I am no longer a victim.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0I worked hard to recognize the indomitable spirit in me that survived a horrendous childhood AND to recognize all the many gifts that came as a result.\u00a0 While my ego may see my childhood as a tragedy, my SOUL chose my experiences\u2026ALL of them.\u00a0 Those experiences are why I am who I am today.\u00a0 Why I can so readily hear and feel the animals.\u00a0 Why I feel so much compassion for the animals, the earth and all the people who dwell here.<\/p>\n<p>I have progressed from victim to <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><b>Survivor<\/b><\/span> to <span style=\"color: #800080; font-size: medium;\"><b>Thriver<\/b><\/span> to <span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><b>Illuminator<\/b><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m on a <span style=\"color: #800080; font-size: medium;\"><b>mission <\/b><\/span>to let every abuse survivor know that they came to this world with a purposeful soul.\u00a0 They came here to HEAL this world through their sensitivity, their compassion, their intuitive gifts and their indomitable<span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> <strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Spirit<\/span><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>We <i>can<\/i> be completely authentic.\u00a0 We can show <i>all<\/i> of who we are because there isn\u2019t ANY aspect of any of us that isn\u2019t completely perfect, completely beautiful.<\/p>\n<p>Wow.<\/p>\n<p>That feels so much better.<\/p>\n<p>Writer\u2019s block gone. \u00a0See you next week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve been gone for awhile\u2026perhaps you noticed.
