{"id":257,"date":"2011-10-19T10:12:44","date_gmt":"2011-10-19T10:12:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wendywolfe.wordpress.com\/?p=257"},"modified":"2011-10-19T10:12:44","modified_gmt":"2011-10-19T10:12:44","slug":"a-buck-named-argus-visits-open-heart-ranch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wendywolfe.com\/?p=257","title":{"rendered":"A heartfelt message from a buck named Argus."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A very beautiful buck and doe have been hanging around Open Heart Ranch.\u00a0 Hanna (our Westie) has been on high alert.\u00a0 Last night the buck stood just outside the pasture fence completely unafraid of the noise and activity.\u00a0 This seemed rather strange behavior so I decided I would see if this buck would communicate with me and of course he did.<\/p>\n<p>After getting quiet I asked for the buck to come forth and he was quickly in front of me looking strong and proud. He told me his name is Argus.\u00a0\u00a0 I asked him why he chose to come visit us.\u00a0 Following is what he shared with me.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Argus:\u00a0<\/strong> We know the hunting season is approaching.\u00a0 The brightest of our species can sense the safe places.\u00a0 We read the energy of the people and animals that live near by.\u00a0 We also know where others of us have fallen before.\u00a0 Sometimes we don\u2019t have any choice but to go to those spaces but when we can avoid it we do.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wendy:<\/strong>\u00a0 While it is true I do not hunt, I do eat meat, even that which comes from your clan.\u00a0 Yet you still consider this a safe place?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Argus:<\/strong>\u00a0 We do have an understanding that some of us will die and we are okay with that.\u00a0 We ask that if you kill us you do it in a way that causes a quick death so we do not suffer.\u00a0 We also ask that you make good use of that which you kill.\u00a0 We know we are not in this body forever and that losing this body is not an end to us.\u00a0 It is most honorable for us to die for someone who appreciates the gift that we are and respects our intelligence.\u00a0 We sense that in you and this place.<\/p>\n<p>It is difficult for us when a young one is killed.\u00a0 It seems such a waste.\u00a0 We would ask the hunters to please be mindful of the animal before you kill.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wendy:<\/strong>\u00a0 Is there anything else you want to share with me or the people who will read what I share about our conversation?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Argus:<\/strong>\u00a0 There is a reason an animals dies so quickly if you pierce its heart.\u00a0 I want you to think about that.\u00a0 It is the heart that is the most vital part of the animal.
