{"id":7470,"date":"2012-08-08T16:44:00","date_gmt":"2012-08-08T16:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wendywolfe.wordpress.com\/?p=555"},"modified":"2012-08-08T16:44:00","modified_gmt":"2012-08-08T16:44:00","slug":"mountain-lion-helps-me-share-a-deep-secret","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wendywolfe.com\/?p=7470","title":{"rendered":"Mountain Lion helps me share a deep secret."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><code><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-556\" title=\"mountain lion\" src=\"http:\/\/wendywolfe.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/mountain-lion.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"240\" \/><\/code>During my meditation today a Mountain Lion came into view and shared with me his insights about climbing towards a vision.\u00a0 Much of what he shared with me was demonstrated as I watched him scale and leap among cliffs and rocks as he ascended towards a ledge high above.\u00a0 I could see the outline of his muscles as they tensed to prepare to jump.\u00a0 He\u00a0was a shining example of strength, agility and courage leaping several times his height as if he exerted no effort at all.<\/p>\n<p>First I saw him climbing up jagged bare rock.\u00a0 He began to talk to me about his journey.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;You can\u2019t always go in a direct path\u2026you must see which next step makes the most sense\u2026the step that takes you further but also keeps you on solid footing.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I watched him for a while traversing the rocks and cliffs, sometimes forward <a href=\"http:\/\/wendywolfe.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/cliffs.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-557\" title=\"cliffs\" src=\"http:\/\/wendywolfe.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/cliffs.jpg?w=240\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>and directly up, sometimes a bit sideways and then back around to go up again.\u00a0 Next he took a huge leap towards a landing very high up.\u00a0 He almost missed but grasped the top ledge with his huge front paws.\u00a0 Suspended in air he struggled a bit and then found a footing for his hind legs giving him the leverage to pull himself onto the ledge.\u00a0 Whew.\u00a0 From here he sees far off into the distance\u2026.and the path from which he has come.<\/p>\n<p>He shared with me:\u00a0 &#8220;<em>That was close.\u00a0 I knew it was a little risky but I had to try.\u00a0 That spot was calling to me.\u00a0 Being here now I can see the rest of my climb more clearly. Our visions take us on a varied path and sometimes that place we know we need to get to seems further than we might be able to leap to.\u00a0 Remember that even though that place may appear slightly out of your reach, you would not be shown it if you were not capable of getting there.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Prepare yourself.\u00a0 Trust.\u00a0 Hold the vision clearly in your mind.\u00a0 And then leap.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Once you are there\u2026as I am here\u2026you have a different perspective.\u00a0 It looks different for me here.\u00a0 I notice some trees jutting out off in the distance.\u00a0 I think I would like to find my way there and enjoy the shade.\u00a0 Had I not made the leap here, I wouldn\u2019t have seen those trees.\u00a0 They were not visible from where I was before.\u00a0 Each movement forward or sideways brings you a new vantage point.\u00a0 From there more possibilities become apparent.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Enjoy your journey.\u00a0 See the path unfold in front of you and<\/em> <em>know that the only destination is the adventure.\u00a0 You were meant to explore and enjoy!\u00a0&#8220;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>For the last couple of years I have been climbing towards a new vision and I understand what Mountain Lion was talking about.\u00a0 There have been times I seemed to have gone more sideways than forward but now that I am further out I understand why those side steps were necessary.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>More recently I have been faced with that cliff that seems out of my reach.\u00a0 My guides have told me very clearly, &#8220;write the book&#8221;.\u00a0 And honestly, it terrifies me.\u00a0 It terrifies me because in the book I will share some of my childhood experiences.\u00a0 The thought of &#8220;telling&#8221; brings up feelings of panic and terror.\u00a0 Trying to tell when I was four\u00a0got my dog killed and me tortured.\u00a0 And even though my adult intellect knows they cannot hurt me or my animals now, that 4-year-old is terrified.\u00a0 Even writing this blog is very scary.<\/p>\n<p>But I&#8217;m not that helpless 4-year-old now.\u00a0 Now I have tools.\u00a0 I have learned ways to parent that child, to help her feel safe.\u00a0 I have learned how to listen to the true inner voice and the wisdom of my guides.\u00a0 I have learned how to manage my personal energy so that I know what is mine and what is not (most times ;-)).\u00a0 I can move forward.\u00a0 I can do this.\u00a0 And still I will be scared.\u00a0 But I will be true to myself and that matters more than anything.\u00a0\u00a0 I will be true to my vision that <strong>every woman survivor deserves to know that her experiences were a catalyst for her to do great things in the world if she chooses.\u00a0<\/strong> She is not a victim;
