When to Stuff Your Emotions

As Highly Sensitive Empaths, we experience more emotions than the average person. When emotions are allowed to be felt and released, energy flows freely. When emotions are blocked or suppressed, they block the flow of vital energy. We block emotions by habit or instinctual response. Learned habits come from our early childhood. As children we’re often shut down when expressing emotions. “Don’t cry or I’ll give you something to cry about.” “Big boys/girls don’t cry.” “Don’t be sad, you’ll make … [Read more...]

When Self-Care turns into Self-Neglect

When you’re a highly sensitive empath it can feel good to go off by yourself to a quiet place.  Extracting ourselves from other’s energy helps calm us.  I teach this “down time” as a strategy for taking care when life gets overwhelming.  But I’ve noticed how overuse of this strategy can send you into the dark murky waters of anxiety. Flashback – Dolphin Speaks Volumes

As I lay awake this morning at 5 am I realized there was no blog this week because I have been happily immersed in preparing for my seminar this Saturday on Stop Anxiety from Stopping you.   For some reason it took me back to the very first blog I ever wrote and I knew I wanted to share it here today.  From October, 2010...wow, almost five years.  Enjoy.   So this is how it begins.  The universe hit me with the proverbial 2x4.  For months I have had this blog space but have written nothing.  My … [Read more...]

How to get Unstuck and Blossom

Do you ever feel like you’re stuck hitting your head against a hard surface struggling to get through to the other side? I felt that way this morning as I strained to conjure up an idea for today’s blog. I wrote one but it didn’t feel right.  It wasn’t inspired. So I took my own advice and went for a walk with the dogs along the river.  I asked for inspiration. Spirit answered my plea for help. On my walk I noticed a plant growing right through the black top.  You can see from the photo how … [Read more...]

The Pedestal Problem

“It is unwise to be too sure of one's own wisdom. It is healthy to be reminded that the strongest might weaken and the wisest might err.”     Mahatma Gandhi A while back I shared an experience where I confessed to killing a spider.  Shortly after the email was released a client unsubscribed from my list and shared that she couldn't believe an animal communicator would kill a spider.  I understood her point of view and wondered, does being an animal communicator make me less human?  What … [Read more...]
