Bat shares about ego and fear.

Have you ever wondered how I get the information for these blogs?  I had a reader ask me recently if I asked the animals the questions or if they just volunteered the information.  It’s yes to both.  Often I go into meditation and just ask what wants to be shared.  Sometimes, I am curious about something or an event has brought something to my attention that I want more information on so I ask who might have something to share.  Other times I might ask somebody (like Smokey) a specific question … [Read more...]

When is it Time to Kick Back?

One of my readers shared a situation after reading my blog “Holding a Grudge According to Cats and Horses” that brought up a good question that I think could serve us all to consider.  You may see yourself here.  It is a human condition that women especially share. From Jennifer:  “I found myself in a business situation questioning my own actions…should I stay quiet, or say something. (My business directly involves animals) I was doing business with a woman, who found direct ways and passive … [Read more...]

Why some prefer the company of animals

Do you prefer animals to people? Would you rather spend time with your dog than your neighbor? Often people confess to me that they would be perfectly content to spend their lives with animals and without people...like Aunt Betty and her 26 cats. I get it. Animals love us unconditionally, a rare find in a person.  They don't judge us if we're cranky, plump, unemployed or underemployed.  They don't nag us about finding a man or having children.  They just greet us with enthusiasm however we … [Read more...]

Holding a Grudge…According to Cats and Horses

A couple of days ago, Junior, one of our cats showed up with a chunk of fur missing from his otherwise adorable nose. I decided to ask Junior what happened and the conversation led me to explore how animals deal with confrontation and what we can learn from them. Wendy: Junior, what happened to your nose? Junior: Patches did that in a fight. (Patches is Junior's daddy. He is somewhat feral but lives most of the time at our neighbors as an outside cat. Junior looks just like his daddy. … [Read more...]

What would your animals choose?

Full Disclosure...This is a post from 10/2010.  Today I am choosing to take care of myself...much like Red demonstrated a few weeks ago by resting and offering you this article on choosing.   One of the most important lessons I've ever learned is that there is always choice.  We always have a choice in any situation even if the choice is how we perceive the situation.  When we don't recognize we have a choice we feel very disempowered.  When we believe we are powerless it feels horrible.  I … [Read more...]
